FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[New!]DB Manager Update Roll out on May 25th 2004

Enhancements and Fixes to the MySQL Database Manager

May 25 2004 -- DomainMasters.NET High Speed Web Hosting and Internet Services is pleased to announce that DB Manager Update Roll out on May 25th will proceed as scheduled.

1) A new feature allows a limit put on the number of databases that can be created by the domain owner. The DB Manager will enforce the limit set here by DomainMasters.NET.

2) DB Manager will no longer allow deletions of the primary/initial domain database.

3) Removed display of 'Alabanza Web Hosting tool' in Browser Title of DB Manager when managing a database by opening a NEW browser window.

4) Fixes handling/access of database names that start with a number.

5) Fixes bug that caused assorted errors from processing of user-supplied SQL statement; mostly due to problems filtering out "USE DBxxx;" commands.

6) Fixes problem with move or copy a table from one database to another where the pull-down list only contained the name of the current (source) database. Now the user will be able to see the entire database list of those databases to which they have access.

7) Added new entry to the Control Panel "RESOURCES AVAILABLE" table called "User Databases" to show the domain user how many user-created databases they have available. This tracking excludes databases not created through the DB Manager interface. The updates required as a result of package changes to existing domains will result in DSM TODO processes identified as "set_db_count" process.

8) File was modified to correct a bad display of "User Databases" resource.

9) Modified user database privileges in order to establish domain-host access for every domain on the server with the primary database installed. This facilitates the fix for copying tables between databases by making sure that the Control Panel user can login using domain-host.

10) Modified the process which is responsible for the creation of the initial domain database so that it includes privileges for both domain-host access and localhost access.

11) phpMyAdmin-2.5.5 code was modified to disable the delete of primary db and show a drop-down database list to facilitate moving tables between databases.

12) Modified to prevent display of "test" database drop-down database list.

13) Makes sure every primary domain user has a mysql.db domain-host grant setup.

14) Modified /usr/local/nm/classes/DomainPackage.html to set db count when an additional DATABASE resource package is added to a domain.

15) Prevented display of "%" (percent sign) in the list of ODBC connections.

16) The "delete database" button will be disabled for the primary domain's database AND and NON-DbMgr created database.
